Elizabeth’s Status to be Decided Wednesday

SHAH ALAM, Mar 20 – The decision on Elizabeth Wong’s status as Selangor State Executive Council Member (Exco) will be decided upon by the state government this Wednesday, said Dato’ Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
 
Abdul Khalid said , he would meet personally with Elizabeth tomorrow to inform her of her position within the state government .

“However I am not going to disclose what we will be discussing,” he said, refusing to comment on where the meeting would take place.

He said, any decisions on Elizabeth’s status could only be decided on after discussions with the Exco at next week’s state executive council meeting.

“The Exco will meet this Wednesday and after that I will announce the course of action that will be taken,” he said.

He said this in a media conference after meeting with the Selangor Busines Council (SBC) and REHDA at the Dewan Jubli Perak, here this afternoon.
 
Commenting on the meeting with SBC members today Abdul Khalid said it was intended to discuss and get their opinions relating to Selangor’s economic stimulation package to SBC members for their opinions.

“I am grateful for their positive feedback, and in fact they also reminded the state government on several important issues including the correct ways to implement certain programmes,” he said.

He added, funding for these projects will also be given focus to ensure that its short-term impact such as cleaning up the Klang River could be felt, besides ensuring the long-term plans are implemented properly. – MURIZA ABDUL HAMID
