Selangor Passes State Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation

SHAH ALAM, 16 Mac – The Selangor State Legislative (Dun) Assembly today passed the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation Enactment which functions as a special body to preserve Malay customs, as well as Selangor’s heritage and history.
 
This was agreed through the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation Bill which was passed this afternoon.

“This special body will maintain, conserve, preserve, stabilise, manage, develop, regulate and supervise, enforce as well as gazette all aspects of Malay culture and Selangor historical heritage,” said Chairman for Permanent Committee on Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs, Infrastructure and Public Amenities Dato’ Dr Hasan Mohamed Ali  who had proposed it, seconded by Adun for Batu Tiga, Rodziah Ismail.

Dr Hasan said, as soon as the enactment came into effect, the Selangor Museums Board Enactment 1975 would be abolished.

“All related provisions in the enactment will be included in this Bill,” he said.- MURIZA ABDUL HAMID
