Mar 16th, 2009 | By nizam | Category: NewsSHAH ALAM, Mar 16 – Dato’ Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today said he would be meeting Elizabeth Wong at the end of this week to discuss the State Assemblywoman’s (Adun) position in the state government.
He said, dicussions on her status could not be conducted at this time as the State Legislative Assembly (Dun) meeting was still on-going.
“We are a bit busy right now and I need a bit more time to see her,” he said, adding that the Adun for Bukit Lanjan had wanted to meet him today but he had suggested the weekend instead.
Abdul Khalid said this when the Dun meeting stopped for lunch, today.
Asked about the rationale of giving her over one month’s leave, Abdul Khalid said, Elizabeth had been given permission from Speaker Teng Chang Khim, to be absent from the meeting.
Yesterday, local newspapers reported that the Bukit Lanjan Adun’s leave had ended, without any decisions made on her status within the state government. – MURIZA ABDUL HAMID
