KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 15 – The state government organised a Charity night by sponsoring the performance of the Sirah Junjungan Tahajjud Cinta at Istana Budaya’s Musical Theatre  last night.

Dato’ Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and Chairperson for Permanent Committee on Welfare, Woman’s Affairs, Science, Technology and Innovation, Rodziah Ismail were also present at the musical, directed by Erma Fatima.
 
Proceeds from the show which also stars Jamal Abdillah, will be channeled to welfare institutions in Selangor.
 
Meanwhile, in a brief speech after the performance, Rodziah said the musical was screened at an appropriate time, in conjunction with Prophet Mohamad’s birthday.
 
“Thank you to Erma Fatima and everyone involved for such a touching theatre performance which enables us to appreciate our prophet’s struggles,” she said.

Erma who represented the Yayasan Seni Karya Prihatin Malaysia also thanked the state government for making last night’s performance a charity event.  – NOOR ALLIA KASSIM
