KUALA KUBU BHARU, Mar 14 – Low cost housing projects for low income groups should not be sidelined, said Dato’ Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He said, developers should always include low cost houses in their housing schemes.

“Even though the project involves a beautiful housing area, we should still set aside part of it for low cost houses so that they are not left out when it comes to development,” he said when met by reporters after the Sambutan Konvoi Kembara Rakyat in conjunction with the one year anniversary of the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat government.

Abdul Khalid and the Exco also took a bus to  Kuala Kuala Kubu Bharu which was also the first location for the Kembara Rakyat which began today until Mar 21.

Meanwhile Abdul Khalid said the Kembara Rakyat had been well-received by the people of Hulu Selangor.

“I find it most interesting because people from the Orang Asli communities also joined in with the Malays, Chinese and Indians,” he said.

He said the programme, intended to meet people in all the districts, would be continued.

“We have asked Council Members, Village Development and Safety Committees as well as State Assemblymen and Members of Parliament to continue to meet the people,” he said.
