SHAH ALAM, 14 January – The eight-man delegation lead by advisor to the Saudi Arabian King Raja Abdullah Abdul Aziz AlSaud,  His Excellency Prince Dr. Bandar Salman, today had a special audience with the DYMM Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

Also present in the hour-long meeting at the Istana Bukit Kayangan, here today, were the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque, Dr Abdul Bari Awwadh AlThobaiti, Asistant Professor, Islamic University of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Dr Abdul Mohsin Abdullah AlMohaisin, as well as the Rector of the Al-Madinah International University (Mediu).

State Secretary Dato’ Ramli Mahmud was also present.

It is understood that one of Mediu’s main campuses will be built in Cyberjaya, Selangor and there have been discussions relating to this issue with the state government.

Mediu which  has been operating in Shah Alam since December 2007 has more than 1,000 students learning Islamic studies. Mediu also has several other campuses in countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, United Kingdom and Iraq.

The delegation which among others includes members of Mediu’s council are expected to meet the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi after this. – NOOR ALLIA KASSIM
