Feb 25th, 2009 | By nizam | Category: NewsSHAH ALAM, February 25 – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj was not against efforts to donate sacrificial cows, and in fact encouraged it to be extended to Kuala Lumpur including Bandar Tun Razak, said the Dato’ Menteri Besar today.
Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said, in his meeting with the Sultan at the Istana Mestika this morning, Sultan Sharafuddin also took the stand that he did not oppose the use of a private car for the Dato’ Menteri Besar’s official car as long as it all legal procedures were followed.
Abdul Khalid who has been linked to the issue of the donation of 46 sacrificial cows and maintenance of his personal car using state government duns also said he would write to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in response to the two allegations.
Dato’ Seri Ahmad Said in a media conference on February 20th had been reported as saying that there was strong evidence which showed that Abdul Khalid had abused his powers.
“Meanwhile, legal action will be taken against Gerak Chairman (Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus) for slanderous remarks claiming (I had) abused (my) powers as published by the media,” he said.
He said, Mohd Nazree would be asked to explain himself and legal action would be commenced if he failed to give an answer.
Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid said he appreciated the strong support given by Pas President, Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for him and the state government relating on this matter.
He said this support proved the strength of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) which certain parties were attempting to break just to get cheap publicity.
Abdul Khalid said an internal meeting would be held to discuss the issue transparently and wisely with all the leaders. – NOOR ALLIA KASSIM
