MB Appreciates Efforts for MES
Feb 21st, 2009 | By nizam | Category: NewsSUBANG JAYA, February 21 – The Dato’ Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim thanks all State Executive Council (Exco) Members on their effort and cooperation in the development of the state of Selangor.
This appreciation followed the success in implementing the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) agenda that had been introduced by the Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
Abdul Khalid in his speech also urged Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen (Aduns) to work together in developing Selangor’s economy.
“We want the people to think of Selangor as a home, not just a place to stay in but a somewhere they can take shelter.
“At the same time we also need the people to develop themselves as development starts with the people,” he said in a keynote address at the Retreat Exco Selangor 2009 at Holiday Villa Hotel, here, tonight.
The Dato’ Menteri Besar said, after a year of being with Selangor, it was now time for PR to implement all that it had planned in increasing the state’s economic level in line with the government’s ajaan membangunkan negara.
“Although we are not as rich as the Barisan Nasional (BN), we will keep working towards our goals no matter how long it takes. As an example, the problem of squatters. Even though it is not easy to settle, we are ready to tackle the issue bit by bit,” he said.
He hoped that in the current uncertain economic situation, there would be no problems in thinking, planning and moving together to better develop Selangor’s economy. – MURIZA ABDUL HAMID
