MB To Face the Sultan of Selangor
Feb 17th, 2009 | By nizam | Category: NewsSHAH ALAM, February 17 – Dato’ Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will face the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj to explain the issue relating to the distribution of photographs of State Woman’s Executive Council meeting (Exco) Elizabeth Wong.
The Dato’ Menteri Besar said he would get the Sultan’s opinion and view on the issue.
Abdul Khalid in a statement today also confirmed that he had received the resignation letter by Elizabeth, who is also Chairperson for Permanent Committee on Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment.
“I received the letter from YB Elizabeth Wong which stated her wish to resign as Bukit Lanjan Adun and Exco,” he said, adding that she was a dynamic Adun and Exco member.
Abdul Khalid said during her 11 months of service, Elizabeth had worked hard to carry out her duties with persistence and dedication.
He advised Elizabeth to go on leave to calm and rest herself considering this situation was the most challenging that she faced in her political career.
Abdul Khalid added, the current situation was extremely because personal issues were made worse by those who maliciously intended to smear her name and integrity.
“I believe that Malaysians and the people of Selangor especially, are with me in facing the dirty tactics used by certain political desperados which aim to embarrass the ‘pemimpin berjiwa rakyat’ polisi instilled in the Selangor state government now,” he said.
Elizabeth, 37, lodged a police report at the Damansara police station on Sunday night after being informed that her semi-nude photographs and videos taken without her knowledge were spread by certain parties.- NOOR ALLIA KASSIM
